Welcome to the Positive Steps Challenge

How it works is easy - I set myself some small goals to work on in any given day.  The number of goals depends on just how i am feeling - on a particularly difficult day it could be just 1 or 2 goals, on a great day it could be 10 or 20 even.

During the day i will go over the goals for the day and mark off any i have achieved.

The most important part of the Positive Steps Challenge is it is about focussing on what i have accomplished during the day - it is not used to beat myself up with when i don't manage to do everything i have aimed for.  It is also about recognising the small steps i take towards my goals.

For example, for today my goal is to simply tidy my house - its common for people with depression to struggle with doing something like this because it can get to the point where it is completely overwhelming.

Today i feel overwhelmed by it, and usually this would mean i don't know how or where to start and i either do nothing or i do little bits of different things, but get no-where.  To make it easier, and much less overwhelming i will break that goal down into small steps:

Today i would like to:

wash the dishes - done :)
clear the kitchen table - started
clear the living room floor
put the clean washing away - done :)
hang up the washing that i did yesterday - done :)

Thats it, nothing more is going on the list for today.  My house may well not be tidy by the end of the list, BUT it will be better than it was before i started.

Later i will come back and mark off whatever i have managed to do.

I might also manage to do some other positive things today, and if i do i will add them below:

Listed some more items on fb selling page :)

If you would like to join me in the positive steps challenge, just comment below the current days blog post saying what you would like to achieve :)  Simples :)

Happy Stepping :)
